Before he starred on the US National Soccer Team and retired as Major League Soccer's all-time leading point scorer, Predrag Radosavljevic was already an indoor soccer legend. Known to the world as Preki, the Belgradian-turned-American forward, burst onto the Major Indoor Soccer League scene with 71 points in his newcomer season with the Tacoma Stars. Tacoma finished 17-31 the season before Preki's arrival in 1985, but midway through the 1985-86 campaign the Stars acquired Steve Zungul from the San Diego Sockers. The new duo led the Stars to the 1986-87 MISL finals following a 35-17 regular season, falling in overtime of Game 7 to the Never Say Die Dallas Sidekicks before an indoor soccer record crowd of 21,728 at the Tacoma Dome.
Starting with the 1987-88 season, Preki was named All-MISL 1st Team five straight years, and was named league Most Valuable Player in 1988-89 after leading the league with 104 points. After five seasons with Tacoma and two with the St. Louis Storm, Preki signed with English Premier League team Everton before returning indoors for two seasons with the Continental Indoor Soccer League's San Jose Grizzlies. Preki capped off his indoor career with a dazzling 89 points in 24 games in 1995, taking home his second league MVP award.
In 1996 Preki signed with the Kansas City Wiz, led by former Sockers coach Ron Newman. Preki went on to play 242 MLS games from 1996 to 2005, scoring 79 times, and assisting on 112 goals. He was named league MVP in 1997 and 2003. During this time he also earned 28 caps with the US National Soccer Team.
